Salient has Talent Operations Centers (TOCs) in Fairfax, Virginia; San Diego, California; and Tampa, Florida. These centers exist as a result of significant internal investment, the application of state of the art technologies, with dedicated and focused resources. Salient TOCs are unique in the industry. As the name implies they are “operations” centers dedicated to contract mission support with resulting performance standards and established/effective quality assurance processes. All have verified degrees. All have been pre-interviewed and sometimes tested to verify their technical abilities.. Our Talent Operations Centers, or TOCs, are the cornerstone of our talent management process. We have three TOCs across the country. The sophistication of our newest facility in Fairfax, VA approaches that of a large network operations center or trading floor. There’s a buzz as a roomful of Talent Operation Specialists work the phones at stations equipped with dual flat-screen displays. A large video wall tracks progress toward fulfilling requirements.
Very few qualify to work in our Talent Operations Centers. They’re staffed by carefully selected Talent Operations Specialists. Less than 1% of applicants for the job of Talent Operations Specialist ever win that title. Each must undergo extensive training to earn and maintain their Talent Operations certification. These are assertive, initiative-taking individuals with superb communication skills. They train constantly. They’re held accountable for results in twice-daily stand-up meetings.
And those results are impressive. Where other companies can take months to fill positions, our turnaround for both new hires and successors is two weeks or less.
